Free Agency
Unrestricted Free Agent
All negotiations take place with the Player Rep. All free agents will be listed by season's end and will stay for the duration of the year. Negotiations can take place at any time for any given free agent. The player's negotiations may have demands, and may agree to accept less money for a better opportunity or a better fit with another club.

Restricted Free Agent
RFA means restricted Free Agent. It means that the team the player is on has rights to that player, and added security for their prospects. If you want to sign a RFA, you must submit an offer sheet to PR. He then forwards it to the team that owns the players rights, and they have the chance to match it and keep the player, or let him go and recieve compensation.
what do include in the Pm
- Player Name
- Status ("RFA" in this case - but also include the team that has his rights, if you can)
- Age
- Current Contract (mainly pay)
- Last seasons stats (GP-G-A-PTS- and +/- for fowards, GP-W-L-S%-GAA for goalies)
- New contract offer
- Terms of the deal (NTC, NMC, etc)
- For RFAs, write-ups don't mean as much, so you don;t have to spend a lot of time on them, but can they ever hurt?
Make sure to put the players name on the Subject line
This is the compensation for contract offers to RFAs:
$900,000 or below = No Compensation

Contract Extensions
Post the players/staff from your team who you want to re-sign here
Prospects signing should also be posted here
Please indicate the exact amount and the exact length of the contract
Here are some options you can give players:
*No-trade Clause
*No-Movement Clause
*Player option
*Team option
You negotiate any and all contract situations with the Player Agent/Representative. As long as he accepts and approves the contract, it will be automatically approved with the acceptance of one admin/mod there after.
You have 48 hours to match the offer on your RFA. If the 48 hour period passes, you do not get the player. If the team which owns the rights to the player does not have a GM after the 48 hours has passes, either Leafs or PR will decide who gets the player.
Waivers
Players must be waived if they are on a 1-way contract. If they are on a 2-Way contract, they do not have to be waived.
ALSO IF THEY ARE UNDER 1M AND ARE ON A ONE WAY CONTRACT THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE WAIVED
If he clears waivers, and is then recalled later on, he must pass through re-entry waivers.
If a player is claimed off re-entry waivers, the team that claimed the player gets the player for half the cost. The other part of the contract will disappear and will NOT go towards the orginal team's cap.
If a player is claimed on waivers, or re-entry waivers, there is a 24 hour span in which all other teams may place a claim.
At the end of this time frame, the team with the lowest standing gets the player. If the waiving is prior to November 1st , the previous season's standings are used. If the teams that put the claim in are tied in points, the team with the least amount of games played wins. If that is tied, the team with the least amount of wins, wins. If that is also tied, the team who finished lower in the standings last season will win.
